It is a familiar wine business that was established in 1890 with a 150-hectare own vineyard.  It has now started a new period after constructing a singular building with a “Chateau” style in a lovely 150,000-m2 property in the municipal district of Azagra, next to the road that joins the localities of San Adrian and Azagra (NA 134 – km 47); it is situated on the top of a high plateau over the confluence of the Ega and the Ebro rivers, from where a panoramic view of a beautiful and wide landscape of La Rioja region can be spotted.

In the new winery we do all the viticulture processes and activities, from the growing of the vine to the last stage, the bottling and marketing, with catering services that we offer to the customer, and combining “enotourism” and agriculture.

It is a 150,000-m2 land.  10,000 m2 of them are occupied by buildings with several floors at a different elevation making the most of the geographical surrounding in this area and arranging the “Crianza” wines zone and the subterranean wine cellar in a traditional Rioja authentic style to provide them with optimal conditions regarding the ideal temperature and humidity for the ageing of the wine and minimizing the environmental visual impact.

To construct the facilities we have taken responsible environmental measures and sustainable development schemes.  These measures have made possible the recognition of Bodega Finca Manzanos, which has been granted the important “Best of” 2007 Wine Tourism Award by the Great Main Cities of the Wine Network, aiming to reward and promote the quality and excellence in the wine tourism.

Unique wines in a unique place

These are new facilities that comprise the LAND, THE VINEYARDS, CHÂTEAU STYLE WINERIES, THE HOTEL and THE RESTAURANT.

The new winery is situated in a natural terrace next to the Ega River mouth into the Ebro River, from where a spectacular view to the whole Ebro River bank can be spotted.  In short, it is a unique place that is worth visiting.

In this unique place we can produce unique Rioja wines that are commercialised under the next names: VIÑA BERRI, VIÑA MARICHALAR, V. FERNANDEZ DE MANZANOS, FINCA MANZANOS

For Fernández de Manzanos, “enology tourism” is not just to taste wines; it also means a wider universe that help us to promote the wine culture that prevails in our land.

The philosophy and logos that our Winery promotion is ruled by are:

-          to discover a different leisure tourism.

-          to enjoy an exclusive and select product.

-          to experience the universe of the wine, a universe of sensations.

Our services are:

-          we contact a public interested in this “enotourism” (visits to the winery).

-          we hold professional meetings in the winery and special activities.

-          promotion general services.

We sell tourist packs to visit the winery and offer quality services:

1.       Visits to the winery throughout the year:

-          Express: guided visit to the winery and three wine tasting: 7 €.

-          Visit and lunch: guided visit to the winery, three wine tasting and lunch.  Menus to arrange (10 people minimum).

2.       Special visits to the winery, in special days, and lunch.  The visit is focused in the vine cycle: the pruning season, the flowering, the ripening and the grape harvest.

This is one of the most innovating proposals: the cycle of the vine, guided visits to the winery in specific days to see the evolution of the vineyard throughout the year.

This is the first Winery that is officially regarded as accessible and adapted for disabled people.
