
This familiar winery, rustic and artisan, was built of ashlars Stone, is located in one of the most picturesque locations of the Rioja Alavesa, and at the foot of the Cantabria Mountain range. Its origin dates back to the 17th century, when it was tunneled out of the rock by hand and chisel at 20 meters depth, and where nowadays rest the casks destined for the aging of our wines.
Its wines are commercialized under the brand: CINCEL, (chisel) in homage to its beginnings.
The winery has 30 fermentation vats and a capacity of 1 million liters.
En la parte antigua se pueden observar antigüedades como: aperos agrícolas, lámparas antiguas, arcones del S.XVI y XVII, y otros que son reflejo de su historia.
The most modern part has three 1.000 square meters spaces used for cask ageing, another for bottle ageing and the last one for storing finished products.
We offer our visitors the possibility to get to know the wine world, this is why we offer you guided visits where we will explain the wine elaboration and ageing process and you will be able to taste our broths, and also, if you desire and under reservation, you will be able to taste a typical menu of the area in any of our three dining rooms, with a capacity for : 60,20 and 14 dinner guests and our oeno-shop to purchase our wines.
Club de la Barrica: the member of our club can acquire a cask equivalent to 276 bottles of 75 cl that will be delivered with a special club label, and if you wish, also personalized.
