Hotel Villa de Abalos

Rural hotel opened in the year 2002 located in an Ancestral House of the XVII th century,
after an important rehabilitation in which his noble materials have been respected.
The stone, the wood and the forge combine in a decoration with delight, modern and comfortable.
Its owners are Merche and José Luis, two professionals from the catering business who have left the
city to tackle a new way of life. In the restaurant they offer traditional and seasonal dishes from La Rioja
, with touches from la nouvelle cuisine, accompanied of a menu
of wines that does honour the ground where it is. Specialists in wine tourism,
in the Hotel they prepare programs of active tourism related to the culture of wine,
wine-growing, tasting, visits to wine vaults.
Ábalos is a small village from La Rioja whose life turns around wine, its main
tourist resource. A walk along its streets with numerous Ancestral Houses with scutcheons,
it is impressi ve altarpiece of San Esteban Church and in its surroundings, Romanesque Chapels,
necropolis, Guardaviñas and wine presses, makes of Ábalos a charming place.

the grape harvest is here! The nicest epoch in La Rioja! The Hotel Town of Ábalos,
as in previous years, organises the grape harvest, one of the activities of the enoturístic program
Annual Cycle of the Wine and that consists in harvesting and tread on the grapes barefooted in a wine press of the XVth century; in addition to visit a wine vault, the museum of the wine and the San Esteban Church. We will realise this activity in the first three weekends of October. You can consult the detailed content of the program in the attached file or in our web. of the first award Best of Wine Tourism of the Area of Big Capitals and Vineyards around Bil bao-Rioja
in the category of Free Time Activities.
